Pilot pickup: Portland Inner pilot station (less 180m LOA) / Portland Outer pilot station (Greater 180m LOA)

Pilot VHF channel: CH 74

Pilot compulsory: All vessels over 50m LOA, 20m LOA with more than 12 passengers or dangerous cargoes.

Normal working hours for pilot: 24/7

Prevailing currents: Negligible in harbour and maximum 1.1 knots at harbour entrances
