Eden Project

Eden Project

The Eden Project communicates its story in a ‘Living Theatre of Plants and People’ based in a large crater in which nestle two vast greenhouses (Biomes). These house plants, crops and landscapes from the humid tropics and warm temperate regions and act as a backdrop to the temperate landscape, which we call the Outdoor Biome.

Glendurgan Garden

Glendurgan Garden

Glendurgan has been described as a “little bit of heaven on earth”, and this truly is what it is. A valley garden made of three valleys that come together, and run down to the tiny hamlet of Durgan. The garden has plants from all around the world; it was established by the Fox family, who were Quakers. More information.

Godolphin

Godolphin House & Gardens

Godolphin was considered in the 17th century to be the most fashionable house in Cornwall. Centuries of benign neglect have given the house and garden and surrounding estate buildings an extraordinary haunting air of antiquity and peace. Miraculously the garden has barely changed since the 14th and 16th centuries, with the latest fashions passing it by.

Place Manor

Place Manor

Place has been the home of the Treffry family since the 15th century. The house and gardens stand above the port of Fowey like a castle on the Danube, with the town sheltering beneath the towers of Place where a  gang of Bretons were driven from Place by Thomas the Younger's wife Elizabeth Treffry, who is supposed to have poured boiling lead on their heads from the tower.

Trelowarren

Trelowarren

A thousand years of history have preceded you at Trelowarren, the home of the Vyvyan family who have lived here since 1427. Around the estate are woodland walks, and the Halliggye fogou; a series of strange Neolithic underground chambers the use of which is unknown and today the home of bats and spiders but mustn’t be missed for its sheer mystery.
