Trelissick Garden
website: www.nationaltrust.org.uk
A magical garden situated at the head of the River Fal, in spring the garden is a delight with camellias, magnolias, rhododendrons, and azaleas in full bloom. In summer unlike many Cornish gardens, Trelissick has summer boarders that provide a riot of colour. Throughout the garden there are glimpses of the Carrick Roads and the River Fal. As part of your visits it will be possible to arrange a garden tour with one of the garden team.
Why not travel by boat, and enjoy glimpses of Trelissick House as it looks down across the park to the estuary. Trelissick estate was donated to the National Trust by Mrs Ida Copeland, whose husband Ronald, was the Managing Director of W.T.Copeland, who manufactured Spode China in Stoke on Trent. Blooms from Trelissick were taken by rail to Stoke on Trent, where artists painted them onto the china.
Exclusive to the cruise passenger if required.
As part of your visit, you will have the opportunity to meet a member of the Copeland family who will provide a guided tour of the Copeland China Collection displayed in Trelissick House. They have one piece of each Spode design that was made, whilst the Copelands were in ownership.
During you visit to Trelissick why not pay a visit to the two galleries that occupy one of the estate buildings at Trelissick.
