Dunster and Dunster Castle

One of the prettiest villages in Britain. Deep in National Trust country and on the fringes of Exmoor National Park it has many mediaeval buildings, a working water-mill built in 1680 and is overlooked by the dramatic Dunster Castle. Nearby are the chocolate-box thatched villages of Selworth and Allerford.

There is also a wealth of maritime history in the area including the recently restored three-masted schooner at the Kathleen & May that is moored at Bideford. The historic houses at RHS Garden Rosemoor, Tapeley Park and Hartland Abbey and the village of Clovelly all have strong heritage interests.
